In essence, the English equivalents of the Yoruba words are carefully selected to enrich the user's vocabulary. And the accompanying colourful illustrations are designed to enhance the quality of the book by injecting actions into the words, which makes them come alive to effectively communicate their intended or implied meanings. The book is culturally relevant taking consideration of the language problems the users encounter at this stage of their formative age. It is hoped thus, that First Illustrated 1000 Words in Yoruba will in no small measure, help in the learning and teaching of the Yoruba Language.
